Job description

Our customer develops, manufactures, and sells dynamic glazing solutions based on Liquid Crystal (LC) glazing. LC glazing can change its transmission with the switch of a button, providing control over light and heat entering a building and bringing comfort and privacy to the users. The switchable materials are the core of these switchable windows. You will be part of a company which provides dynamic glazing solutions to key users for applications in architecture worldwide.


Tasks & Responsibilities
As a Reliability Engineer, you will contribute to the development, testing and qualification of new technologies, materials and components for eyrise® dynamic glazing. Your work will be to assure our glazing products are reliable. The requirements and test methodics will be aligned with Marketing and Sales and Product Development. You will be a member of the Development & engineering organization of eyrise® and work closely together with Marketing and Sales, Service, Quality Assurance, Engineering and external test and research institutes. Your activities and responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of product reliability and durability tests and assessment of test results
  • Collaboration with external test and research institutes
  • Proposing and support implementation of improvements in the existing product design for dynamic glazing
  • Implementation and validation of test methods
  • Assure product design are aligned with the System Architect for compliancy with industry norms and standards
  • Identification and qualification of materials and components for dynamic glazing
  • Technical support to engineering, production, and quality departments
  • Technical support to and Field application research with Marketing and Sales including on-site visits to customers
  • Project management for own development projects, incl. interfaces with other departments and external partners


Job requirements

You have a technical background (MSc or PhD) in mechanical engineering or a related field. You are hands-on and have affinity with structural mechanics and reliability testing. Furthermore, your skills and experience include:

  • MSc or PhD mechanical engineering, materials science, or a similar technical background
  • At least 5 years of experience with a relevant function in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience in structural mechanics
  • Experience with reliability testing
  • Supportive attitude towards the team and partners
  • Good communication skills and the ability to discuss technical topics with other departments and external partners
  • Fluent in English
